// Jumper- Matalan // Skirt- New Look // Necklace- My Grandma's //

Hello everyone! I thought I would share a little outfit of the day with you today. The weather lately has been so confusing- the mornings here are cold, foggy and wet, and by the time I finish work in the afternoon, it's warm and sunny! This outfit, paired with my Converse, was today's answer to the fickle weather.

The jumper is a new one I picked up in Matalan in the children's section. I love their children's section! They have such gorgeous items, some of them so similar to the adults clothes, at a fraction of the price, and their age 15 pieces are the same size as a ladies size 8! This jumper was only £12, whereas similar ones in the ladies section were between £20 and £30! I have received so many compliments on it too. It's so classic and simple, however the detailing such as the lovely shape of the sleeves and the buttons running down the back stop it from being too boring.

This denim pencil skirt from New Look was this summers attempt at stopping myself getting stuck in the routine of wearing my skinny jeans with everything. Having a very active 18 month old means that most skirts simply aren't practical- I don't want to spend all day worrying about either flashing people or treading on the bottom of my maxi skirts! But this skirt is brilliant- it's stretchy, comfortable, and long enough to save my dignity! I love the shape and it goes with almost everything.

How are you all? I am still working 7 days a week, but treated myself to my first night out in a very long time last week! I was a little bit worried about being too old now I'm a mum, but it felt really good to get dressed up and spend a night with my friends not stressing about work, weddings or nappies!

Victory Tea

With the diamond jubilee coming up, the country has gone very patriotic. Shops and streets are filled with red, white and blue decorations, clothes, cakes and merchandise. Everyone is loving all things British, and what better way to celebrate than with a good old cup of tea?

Victory Tea very kindly sent me a trial pack of their Blend No.1 so I could experience it for myself. Victory Tea has only just been launched this year and is only available online, but the way the tea is packaged and sent to you is a big part of Victory Tea's appeal. If you love receiving pretty post as much as I do, Victory Tea will be a real treat for you. Finding their brown box decorated with blue and red, union jacks and vintage stamps on your doorstep feels like you are receiving something special. On the inside of the box is a little story about how Victory Tea is made with lovely illustrations and gold foil packets of tea bags. It is without a doubt the most stylish cup of tea I have ever had! But this is to be expected. The woman behind Victory Tea is Sarah Holmes, former fashion journalist for Red magazine, marketing manager for fashion house Jules B, and founder of designer clothing store Ophelia. However, her family business is Ringtons, who have been making tea since 1907. This interest and knowledge in tea combined with her experience in the fashion industry is what makes Victory Tea special.

Victory Tea really is a lovely cup of tea. It tastes as good as it looks and my whole family has loved it. My mum described it as a 'proper cup of tea, how it should taste' and that is exactly it! They say 'Unlike most tea companies we vacuum pack our tea almost as soon as it's been picked (this removes oxygen which impairs flavour) then it's packed into teabags which are specially sealed in foil. This keeps Victory Tea fresh all the way to your cupboard. '. I am not an expert in how to make tea, but I can tell you it is one of the best I've ever tasted! The only downside is they only have one type of tea, a black tea. I am a big lover of tea and like lots of different types, and I prefer to buy decaffinated tea, which they unfortunately don't have. Hopefully this is just because the company is new and they will expand their range in the future.

If you would like to try it for yourself, you can buy it from their website here. They also have a really handy tutorial on how to make the perfect cup of tea on their blog here.

Will you be doing anything to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee?

post and winners!!

Saturday morning I awoke to such a lovely surprise!! another package in the post. This time, from my little brother!! my little brother is very small, i am much older but we are ever so close. Being away from him at university makes my heart ache, and cheeks damp from tears.
He has been missing me and my David and my Poppy, and decided he would like to send us a letter! He got my father to help him buy a chocolate bar each for me and my David, a packet of biscuits for us and a pen for me. The pen has a little TV on top with a little bear on the screen, and when you press the button, the picture changes! It is adorable. and he also wrote a little letter and made a teeny tiny fish for me.

I am going to send him a parcel back. It will include sweets and a toy, and a photo of me and my David and Poppy, as he always asks to see pictures of poppy.

Poppy was ever so good whilst she had her picture taken. she cuddled into me and stayed very still for the pictures, and then afterwards fell asleep curled up on my lap!

The post has made me long for home. I will be going to visit so we can all go to a christmas market as a family at the start of december, and then I go home properly for christmas on the 18th. only 39 days until christmas day!! 39 days until father christmas visits, until gift swapping, gift unwrapping, smiles on everyones faces, christmas singing, laughing, cracker pulling, christmas dinners with turkey and roast potatoes and yorkshire puddings and brussel sprouts and mothers gravy. until mince pies and mulled wine and christmas puddings and tins of sweets, and playing with new toys and watching old films and falling asleep with full bellies and happy hearts. I cannot wait!

I also received a little card from my dear friend this morning, left for me in my studio space. it had an adorable picture on the front, a little get well card, as I have been feeling a little poorly recently. I have been so very lucky to have so many kind people sending me little surprises and gifts. It has lifted my spirits such a lot, after having been a bit ill and down due to the sky high pile of work I have!

And I have some other very important post to send. To the giveaway winner!! The random number generator at random.org has picked the winner, and she is:
