Lily Belle Rose 08/03/2012

After 6 days of labour, and 2 days before she was due, Lily Belle Rose arrived, 6lb 12oz. Mummys lips and hands and Daddys eyes and chin.

She is beautiful and perfect and David and I are so in love with her. Everything is amazing right now. As I type she is sleeping on my chest.

I must go now to stare at her some more, kiss her lots and smell her hair!!

38 weeks. 2 weeks until my due date. It seems far too long that she may be in there for up to a month yet!! I hope she comes sooner. We are as ready as we are going to be, and I don't want to pregnant anymore! I just want little Lily cuddles. I've had lots of contractions this week and thinking 'is this it?!' but they always stop...

David is now pretty much moving into my parents house with me until we manage to finally get a house. He's getting a second job working for their little catering business, and it will mean he can be with Lily and I. It's been lovely having him around more. This week we built Lily's crib, bought last minute things for my hospital bag & had our last antenatal class.

But the highlight of the week?? BROWNIES. Not just any brownies. Slutty brownies, from Rose at The Londoner blog.  A layer of cookie dough + a layer of oreos + a layer of brownie = gooey, rich, chcocolatey, delicious heaven. And they were really easy to make! Everyone has to try these. Mine don't look as amazing as the ones in Rose's pictures, because they kind of fell apart in a gooey, crumbley mess on the plate, so you cant see the layers properly, but trust me, the taste was AMAZING!!

I really want to do some more baking/ cooking to help pass the time before our little girl arrives. Has anyone else got any favourite recipes to share?

37

I'm 37 weeks pregnant tomorrow. Full term. Baby Lily is fully cooked!! It is so close to her arrival now. I'm getting nervous, but so excited, and a little impatient. I feel huge, uncomfortable and My clothes are all getting far too small, including my maternity clothes. But it won't be long now!

My days are mainly spent organising all of her things (there are a LOT!! For something so small, babies need so much stuff!) into drawers, then rearranging them, then finding new places to keep them, then changing my mind, and then realising we're missing something she needs, then worrying about something, then getting excited, then emotional. In between all this I will be doing other bits of tidying, hoovering and cleaning, maybe having a few contractions or experiencing some kind of new pain that I have to look up. Basically, I am well and truly nesting! I want everything to be perfect and spotless and organised for her arrival!

Then my nights are spent not sleeping very much, and reading a lot. Its tricky to get comfortable when you are the size of an elephant and experiencing all sorts of aches and pains!

I have some things planned though to that I want to do before she comes and I have no time to do anything for myself at all. I want to make some more jewelry and just spend some time in my studio making things just for the fun of it, I want to do some cooking and baking, and I want to have a few nights giving myself facials and hair treatments and long baths while I still have the time!

How was everybody's valentines day? As my David and I didn't get to see each other, we just spent a while on skype. But maybe when he is here next week we will watch a good film, or I may cook something special :)

valentines ideas

Hello :) so... it's valentines day on Tuesday. I wont be seeing David on valentines day this year, or all this week, so our valentines day will be celebrated mainly through skype. But when we do see eachother, with a house to save for and a baby due in 4 weeks (eek!!), we wont be spending money on gifts and treats. But while browsing pinterest, I've been getting all inspired with all the cute little valentines ideas on there that will barely cost a penny! I thought I would share some of my favourite craft & food ideas that would make lovely little gifts for your valentine with things you probably have lying around the house or in kitchen cupboards.

(click on the images to go to their original source)

I particularly love the deck of cards '52 things I love about you' idea (I did something similar to celebrate David and I being together 100 days. I filled a box with 100 paper hearts, with something I loved about him on each one) and the little valentines lunch box. I think any of these would make really cute little gifts, and combined with an evening snuggled up in front of a soppy film, or a walk in the snow (if it has reached where you are!) you can have a perfect valentines day without spending a fortune!

Im not saying what I'm doing, as David likes to read my blog now and again, but I'm definitely feeling very inspired by these! I will let you know :) We have our 6 year anniversary coming up soon too, so I may be using some for then...

Do you have any creative valentines ideas?

p.s: I hope you all like the little makeover the blogs had! I was getting very frustrated and bored with it. I've updated my blog button as well, which you can get from the link under my header :)

soon...

Hello :) I know I keep saying it over and over again, but I really do want to put more time and effort into this blog and get back to posting regularly!! I will try harder...

I can't believe it's february already!! January went so fast. Mine was filled with shopping trips, housework & organising ready for a certain someone's arrival, dinners with friends, cooking for my family, making jewelry, lots of cuddling Milly, our puppy, taking Milly on her first walk, reading and preparing for birth, being scared, being emotional & being ridiculously excited!!

Little Lily's due date is just 5 weeks away. I feel like I am 5 again and it's christmas eve, everyday! It is so exciting and I can't wait for her to get here. Pregnancy is also now very uncomfortable, my ribs hurt and I really don't think my tummy can stretch anymore!! Lily is so big now, there is no room left. I can't wait until I can give her a cuddle for the first time!

This week I want to have a little pampering evening before I officially have no more time to myself, David and I start our antenatal classes, lots of snuggling on the sofa watching films, and I have lots of dog walking and making things to do :) I am also going to fit in a blog post at some point too!!

How are you all??
