mistletoe hung where you can see

Hello!

Nine sleeps until Christmas!! Can you believe it?! I am so excited!

Our house is extremely Christmassy! We decorated last weekend, with a real 7ft Christmas tree in our tiny living room. Our living room is so so small, the smallest I've ever seen, yet David insisted that if we did not have a real, huge tree, it wouldn't be Christmas. I was skeptical to say the least, but am so pleased with it! It is beautiful and has made our living room so cosy and Christmassy, it's perfect!

I know this will be my 23rd Christmas, however I am still amazed every morning I wake up how dark & cold it is! I keep worrying our clocks are wrong and it is, in fact, the middle of the night as I'm on my way to work! I do love wrapping Lily up warm though, every time we leave the house, in her adorable boots, jackets- and how amazing is her pom pom hat?! I hate having to take it off of her, it is just the cutest thing!

I've been making myself feel as Christmassy as possible to get me through these last few days at work. I've painted my nails red & sparkly and been putting on my candied ginger body butter so I can smell Christmas all day! All the children at work are so excited too, and I've been getting lots of cute cards to 'Miss'! Only four and half more days until the Christmas holidays!

All of my Christmas shopping is completely finished and most of the presents are wrapped and under the tree, only a few more to go! This year we've been buying presents for all the Children in the family and a few close relatives, and all the other adults I've been making Christmas jars, inspired by Becky. I got hold of the jars for 80p each at Ikea, and have been filling them with festive socks, little foil wrapped Christmas chocolates, mini Soap and Glory goodies & tiny gingerbread men soaps for the women, and festive socks, Christmas chocolates,  mini Baileys, little original source shower gels & old fashioned wooden puzzles for the men. I then decorated them with red ribbons, candy canes and gift tags. I'm really pleased with them! Super cheap, but super cute treats for Christmas!

How are your Christmas preparations going?

flowers & glitter

I've had a very busy week, working lots of hours, but work has gone all christmassy this week and I love it! I have to wear our christmas makeup range and glitter all over me,  I have been decorating the shop, we have had our christmas candles burning, giving customers christmas makeovers and listening to christmas music!

my long hours meant I didnt have much of a halloween though. I worked late at work, came home and fell asleep! My brother gave me some of his sweets from trick or treating though :)

I have been getting in the christmas mood lately and getting ready for christmas craft fairs and stock for my etsy shop. I have been making some pretty new jewelry with resin flowers and some christmas decorations made out of cinnamon salt dough that make the house smell amazing! I will be putting them up in my shop soon, I hope you all love them :)

And our little Lily. I love being able to really bond with my little girl now I know her gender and name. and she is getting ever so strong and giving me lots of kicks. she even kicked her daddy in the face when his head was on my tummy, hehe! We have been buying lots of pretty little clothes for her and gifts, and I have started reading to her too! I read that if you read a certain story to baby's in the womb they recognise them when they are born and it soothes them. We have been reading Charlie and Lola :) She really responds to my voice now, it's so lovely!

How are you all? are you in the christmas mood yet? did you have fun halloweens?

stardust and suprises!!

i am ever so ever so ever so sorrry for the ever so ever so ever so long time between posting yet again!!!! but everything since starting work again at uni has been absolute complete madness, completely and utterly busy. busy busy busy. but rather wonderful!!! no more sadness and tears, but smiles and giggles. all of you lovelies helped ever so much with your kind words and beautiful posts
thank you

the last few weeks here back at uni have been filled with new projects, new ideas, group work, catch ups over hot chocolate, many phone calls home, whisper mail, smiles, giggles, cuddles, fairy lights, pretend candles, film watching, dancing around and around in my room

oh i did not show you the christmas gift i gave to my love yet, silly silliness. it was not much at all. a collage of pictures and lovely heart warming times. smiles and loveliness. cut out hearts and little i love you doodles. handmade silver frame. all on cardboard, from the box our squeaky shooping trolley came in, that makes us giggle ever such a lot. so very little money i had, there was not much i could do. but it made him smile, and it is up in his room.

the first few days being here before work started were filled with teeny treats. we watched our films, snuggled up. blueberries and tea. chocolate mousse. more tea. ever such a lot of it. pink milk. chocolate milk. we went out with friends also. we all went out for dinner. it was quite wonderful and giggley.

then i was back. i was making and doing and learning, finding out all i must do before summer. which is a lot. more than i expected. i must put on a group exhibition ever so soon and prepare for another in april. oh my goodness so much work. and essays to be done also. ever so much writing to be done. but i will enjoy it, as it is what i love. creating and drawing and sewing and making. i was finding it ever so hard to find inspiration to start. i did not know what i should do. i do not have feedback from before christmas yet either. i have brought a glittery notebook, however, with a very special purpose. shhh. whispers and magic and a moon best friend. our adventures will go in there. ever so carefully. rosie and lottie.

i put something together one evening last week which made me smile at the silliness i had done. such silliness. and i spilt the glitter, oh dear, glitter everywhere. but my desk looks ever so pretty and magical, i am yet to clear it away. my new little friend, an owl. a funny owl. a glittery owl. a silly owl that spilled from my mind. just something to make me giggle.

oh and my dears now for the most exciting part of my time at uni so far. the cheeriest most wonderfullest and happiest of them all. oh my goodness. not one, not two, but three magical packages arrived for me!!! it was simply amazing. how i adore recieving post. and what special packages they were also!!!
the first two were from
my godmother.
late christmas gifts. the first was a book by one of my favourite authors, elizabeth elgin. she writes so beautifully, her books are enchanting, and full of romance and wonder. this book was called 'ill bring you buttercups' and i love it so very much. and the paper it was wrapped up in made me ever so excited also. on the back was a beautiful floral pattern, so delicate and pretty, so i used it to cover a new notebook, as i could not throw it away!!!

the second from my wonderful godmother was beatrix potters journal. oh my goodness, it is such a magical book!!!with many secrets and flaps and folds and suprises. and such beauty and treasures. it is truely amazing.

the third package was ever so ever so special i cannot tell you. it has made me smile and grin and giggle ever ever since. it was from my wonderful wonderful moon best friend, the ever so special one, little lottie, lovely angel. such treasures she sent. all wrapped up and hidden in so much glitter you never did see!! i think i shall sparkle always. it covered every inch of myself and my bedroom and made me giggle ever such a lot. she sent secret notes, a darling little book full of wonderfullness and wonders and magic. lots of teeny little suprises. delicate drawings. the teeniest little book and note which was ever so adorable, from the equally adorable tilly~rose. who also sent me a strawberry drop. such cuteness!!! stars and stars and stars. and a
moungst the magic there was a tiny worry doll, so i shant worry anymore. and it has worked. i have been ever so happy!!! and a charlie and lola plaster, just in case. and a charlie and lola dvd!!!! she is the sweetest and kindest and wonderfullest moon best friend in the whole entire world!!! i curled up in bed last night to watch the cute dvd, with teeny giggles and smiles. i feel ever so lucky. and i am, to recieve such magic. i am i am. the glitter i could collect, that had not stuck itself to my hands, clothes, cheeks, eyes, hair and bed, was placed in my fairy mail jar, with my hundreds of stars. a jar of smiles and magic.

such wonders.

christmas stars and angels and wishes, and a very happy new year!!

Christmas finally arrived, and although the day is now over, christmas is not. not at all. there are still so many celebrations to be had!! and it has been so magical and wonderful, and filled with fun and laughter and treats. i have so much to share with you all...
i was still doing christmas preparations until so very late on christmas eve, i had to rush to bed so santa would come. he came, drank his milk and ate his mince pie, rudolf nibbled on the carrot we left, and santa left many many wonderful gifts. i was given so many beautiful things i cannot possibly fit them all in here. a beautiful horse and arriage, that i can wear around my neck every day. a starry starry skirt and a sequined jumper, that i can wear to our moon tea parties. 7 rings, that glitter and shine, full of colour and beauty you would not believe. glittery bubble bath so i sparkle all day long. teeny pots of fairy dust, that i will use to make retty pictures with my little brother very soon. a lovely book, tied up with a beautiful red ribbon, that i wore in my hair. a sweet teddy called emily, who will join curly on my bed, and they can be friends. lots of sweet treats, a mini etch a sketch, new pens and pencils, a pretty bracelet, a watch on a ribbon to tie around my wrist, dvds and cds, purple tights and strawberry socks. cookery books. a beautiful brooch. a pink glittery belle cup. and many other wonderful delights.
(i must apologise for the poor quality of the photos. all taken with my phone, my camera refuses to work. im hopefully getting oit fixed tomorrow.)

The last picture is of pretend candles my mother has given me, that flicker as though they are real. i love candles, but we are not allowed them in my uni flat. so mother got me these!!! how wonderful they are, too.

I did not finish creating all of my little presents and wrapping them for people until so very late on christmas eve, as there had been so very much else to do. but everyone seemed to like them very much. mother cried at the painting i made for herand father, which is always a good sign. happy tears. she always gets them when she recieves gifts that mean lots to her.

christmas dinner was delicious, and so filling. i ate so much i thought i would burst!! but it was amazing. lots of cracker pulling and paper hat wearing, and so many laughs that made my cheeks and my belly hurt. i thought of my wonderful moon best firend, my little lottie. her stars were all over the table. and then collected carfefully afterwards and put back in their special jar. the tree looked more beautiful than ever. our smiles sparkles. i wore glitter everywhere, on my eyes, my cheeks, my eyelashes, my clothes, my hair, my fingers, my wrists. tribbons like a christmas present. me and my boyfriend had our christmas on another day, and he came to stay, sharing my little single bed. but we do not mind.
i saw all of my family. we had a big party. lots of cousins, that seem to be growing far too fast. lots of games and dancing and laughs. lots of catching up and exchanging of presents. I got to see my cousins little girl, who is ever so cute. we had lots of cuddles and giggles together. she took lots of pictures saying 'cheeeese' really loudly as she took them, then ooohing and clapping at the results. and youll never guess, while playing with the pictures and pressing buttons on my phone, she made a blog!!!! theres an option on my phone that i never knew i had to do that. heres the link to little leahs blog: http://skawig967.blogspot.com/
the picture is of my boyfriend and leahs knees :)
i must go now. me and my little brother have a gingerbread train and christmas biscuits to make with my star and angel cutters. i hope you have all had a wonderful christmas. thank you for all of my lovely comments, it is rather difficult to reply at the moment, but i will try ever so hard to tomorrow. my new years resolution is to post more frequently than i am at the moment, and make my blog better and better!!! :) happy new year to all of you lovelies, i hope you have lots of fun and giggles!!
