MY ATTEMPT AT A 15 MONTH UPDATE

Hi everyone!

For several months now I've been wanted to do one of my usual Lily updates. You know the ones where since she was born, I've taken pictures of her in similar places/ poses so you can really see how she is growing and changing, and the most recent ones being in her little white chair? Well, I've been trying to take more recent ones for a new update, but it just isn't going to happen! If I sit her in her chair, she gets up and walks away. I try and take pictures of her standing, facing the camera, and of course that is extremely boring no matter what I try to distract and bribe her with, so she walks away to play with something else. It is impossible! I end up either with pictures of her back, or pictures where she is just a very happy blur! So I thought I'd share some of these with you- a little selection of photo's from several failed attempts at Lily update posts!

Lily is now 15 months old. She walks, she talks, she sings, she dances, she plays, she giggles. She throws tantrums. She draws & colours. She feeds, cleans & cradles her baby dolls. she knows the theme tunes to her favourite programs & sings along. She kisses & cuddles, she explores, she copies, she uses my makeup brushes to her makeup in the morning, she brushes her hair, she tries to put her shoes on the wrong feet. She dusts the living room with me, feeds the rabbits & pets them gently. Her hair is still a vibrant red, her eyes are a deep blue with flecks of green & gold. She knows her own mind, but is affectionate & loving. She is funny & sweet & will always be my baby, though I'm realising recently she has most definitely become a little girl. I am so proud of her & love her more than I could possibly explain.

I think I will do a proper Lily update when she turns 18 months now. Like the others, with proper update pictures & a letter to her. But this is the best I could do for now!

11 MONTHS

11

Dear Lily

Wow, 11 months. Almost a year! And you have changed so much in the last month!

You are crawling! You finally mastered it and now we can't stop you! It's amazing how much you being able to crawl has brought out so much more of your personality. Now you can get where ever you want to so much quicker, it's like you can communicate better with us. You can crawl to what you want and show us, like when you want a drink. And there is lots of crawling to mummy! You have got so clingy to me Lily! It makes doing anything 1000x harder, but at the same time it's so lovely knowing you want to be close all the time. You like to watch TV cuddled in to me, so you will crawl over and lean against me, and if you want cuddles, you will crawl to me or daddy, sit up on your knees and hold your arms up to us. But you hate mummy leaving the room. You will follow me, unless the doors are closed... and then you scream and cry and cry! You make me feel so guilty! I can't pop to the bathroom without you being completely devastated with tears streaming down your face, and we have to have lots of cuddles to calm you down when I get back. Hopefully you will let mummy go to the toilet without you getting upset soon!

You can pull yourself up to standing so easily now too, and cruise along the furniture. And you are getting so intelligent! You've worked out how to use lots of toys you couldn't before, like your marble tower, throwing your ball, scribbling with your crayons, knowing which buttons to press on toys. You can almost stack your stacking cups, and you 'read'! You turn the pages of your books and babble away, using all the same tones of voice as daddy and I when we read them to you! Daddy has taught you to hi-5. And you can sing incey wincey spider! Well, you hum it, and do the actions at the same time, then right at the end, you say the very last word 'again!' and clap! Grandad taught you that, and you love showing everyone! You've also learnt how to 'phone' people! You have a toy phone that you will put to your ear and say 'eggo'! But you don't just limit it to phones. You use remote controls as phones, fish cakes as phones, toothbrushes as phones, even Milly's collar! Oh, and the 'one, two, three' game. For months you and I have played the game where you sit on my lap, I count to three then tip you backwards. Now, you sit and say 'guh, guh, gooo! eee!' and tip yourself backwards! You little smartie pants!

I can't believe your next update is going to be your one whole year update. This year has flown by, and been the best ever sweetheart. It scares me how quickly time goes, soon you will be all grown up, and you wont want to follow me around anymore, asking for cuddles. Don't change too quickly baby!  Mummy and Daddy love you very much.

Love

Mummy
