at last...

At last. At last, we have the internet! At last, I can get back to blogging! At last, the sun is out & summer is finally here! At last, I have been offered a job!

So much has been happening. I didn't know what to do for this post, so it's a little all over the place. But yes, we now have the internet so my posts will be much more regular and I will get to visit all you lovelies much more often. And I have a job!!!!!! As a teaching assistant!!! Which is what I really wanted. When Lily is older, I want to do a degree in teaching, so I hoped I would be able to get a job as a teaching assistant until then. All the jobs I applied for said they wanted NVQ's in childcare, which I don't have, but applied anyway. Out of a whole stack of applications, when I was just about ready to give up and look for different work, I got an interview. When I arrived, I was put in the waiting room with the other women there for interviews, and wow, how out of place did I look! I was in a room full of middle aged women who were a little 'frumpy' shall I say, all very serious. And there I am, about 20 years younger than all of them, slightly regretting the peach and gold shoes I was wearing and bright nail varnish. The woman who interviewed me along with the headteacher was  very similar to all the other applicants. I answered the questions OK, but left fairly certain the job wasn't mine. But apparently they liked me, because I GOT THE JOB! I am still so shocked and excited. I will be working with special needs children, which will be tough but amazing, and start in September. Part of me can't wait, the other HUGE part of me does not want to leave my teeny Lily Belle. Argh! I can't even type about it without getting emotional!

My time lately has been filled with last touches to our home, baking, cold bottles of wine in the sun, walks by the river, gardening, and lots and lots of playtime, snuggles and giggles (yes, we have giggling now!!!!!!) with a certain little lady who wears penguins on those teeny tiny toes of hers.

I am looking forward to a lovely weekend of celebrations, as it's my birthday on Monday! Today was shopping and lunching with mama, tomorrow I am going to my parents house for a birthday dinner, seeing other family and friends over the weekend, then visiting a favourite pretty little village of mine on Monday.

How are all of you?

x ♥

  2. Congratulations with the job! - I know how hard it is to try and get into schools. I've just got a place to do my PGCE in Sept after a year of trying to get a TA job with no joy!
I've been reading your blog for a while, it's lovely :)
    Best of luck
