Sat on their park bench like bookends

// Jumper- Matalan // Skirt- New Look // Necklace- My Grandma's //

Hello everyone! I thought I would share a little outfit of the day with you today. The weather lately has been so confusing- the mornings here are cold, foggy and wet, and by the time I finish work in the afternoon, it's warm and sunny! This outfit, paired with my Converse, was today's answer to the fickle weather.

The jumper is a new one I picked up in Matalan in the children's section. I love their children's section! They have such gorgeous items, some of them so similar to the adults clothes, at a fraction of the price, and their age 15 pieces are the same size as a ladies size 8! This jumper was only £12, whereas similar ones in the ladies section were between £20 and £30! I have received so many compliments on it too. It's so classic and simple, however the detailing such as the lovely shape of the sleeves and the buttons running down the back stop it from being too boring.

This denim pencil skirt from New Look was this summers attempt at stopping myself getting stuck in the routine of wearing my skinny jeans with everything. Having a very active 18 month old means that most skirts simply aren't practical- I don't want to spend all day worrying about either flashing people or treading on the bottom of my maxi skirts! But this skirt is brilliant- it's stretchy, comfortable, and long enough to save my dignity! I love the shape and it goes with almost everything.

How are you all? I am still working 7 days a week, but treated myself to my first night out in a very long time last week! I was a little bit worried about being too old now I'm a mum, but it felt really good to get dressed up and spend a night with my friends not stressing about work, weddings or nappies!

9 months

Dear Lily,

You are now 9 months old, and have been out of mummy's tummy for as long as you were in there!

You are getting so strong sweetheart. You get up onto your hands and knees, rock backwards and forwards, crawl backwards, try so hard to move forwards- and then fall on your face. But you are so close to crawling forwards! It wont be long now and nothing in this house will be safe anymore! You're already doing very well at getting into lots of mischief by rolling and crawling backwards. Stacks of DVD's are pulled down, cables are pulled, toys are pulled out and spread all over the living room, and the Christmas tree! You first ever Christmas tree, and mummy and daddys first too, as it's their first year not living at home with Grandma & Grandad! It is real & huge (daddy insisted) and you think it is the best toy ever! You very often are found under the tree, pulling branches and playing with baubles, and now the presents are under there, it's even more fun!

You stocking is lots of fun too. When your in your walker, you love going to the fireplace and playing with your stocking. It's really fun to pull and shake because it's got jingle bells on it, but mummy's a little worried you are going to break it, because you get so so excited!

You are strong on your legs too. You can stand while holding onto something for support, and are trying to pull yourself up onto your feet by using the sofa and tables. You can sit now from laying down too!

Where are your teeth Lily? Your 9 months old and you still have the gummiest grin ever! I can feel them, but they seem very shy and have not yet broken through. Mummy can't wait to introduce lots of new exciting food to chew once they're here! But for now sucking and chewing soft foods is still extremely fun for you, especially when you feed yourself! You love feeding yourself sandwiches and biscuits and chocolate buttons and advent calendar chocolates.

You have started to love mummy's singing too (you wont when your older. you'll realise its terrible!) twinkle twinkle little star is your favourite for bedtime, but during the day you love row row row the boat. If you are sitting alone and I start singing it, you rock yourself backwards and forwards! You are so clever and know all the actions yourself! It is adorable.

You have become fascinated with ears & earrings too. Mummy doesn't wear them very often, but Grandma and Auntie Beth do all the time, and you check their ears every day. You turn their head to the side, gently push their hair out of the way, and inspect their earrings. You do it to mummy's ears too, just in case. You love being looked after by Grandma and Auntie, but your are very excited when mummy comes home. I can't do anything but cuddle you as soon as I get in, otherwise you cry! You want a big long cuddle, before I even take my coat off or go to the toilet! It is very cute. And you give kisses too! You hold mummy's face in both hands, and mouth wide open, give the biggest, slobberiest kiss ever, and mummy loves them a lot!

You are the funniest, loveliest, sweetest little girl and you get funnier and sweeter with each day!

Lots of love,

mummy

Lilac, lace & birds

Hello! I wanted to show you all my new jeans!

I am so happy  with these! I saw them on a rail in Asda (yes, Asda!!) for £7, and snapped them up, but when I got to the till, they came up as £10. I questioned the price, and it was a very flustered young boy serving me. The shop was packed and they had some 'technical difficulties' with the till, and the poor boy was getting confused, and said 'Ok, you can have 2 for £7'. I told him no I didn't want two, and jokingly said I'll take these for £3.50 though. 'Ok', he replied and charged me £3.50. £3.50. I couldn't believe it, but here they are! SO happy!!! They are so comfortable too.

My bracelet is from accessorize. How cute is the little wooden, painted bird? I love this bracelet! I'm wearing my usual 'L' bracelet with it, that never leaves my wrist.

Have any of you found any good bargains recently? I love finding amazing deals like this!

Patel & Purple

Our bank holiday weekend was lovely. I am going to do a proper update post soon full of all the pictures I've been taking each day. But for now I'm going to share these outfit pictures!

I know all my outfits are pretty casual and boring at the moment, I'm starting to get better at being organised and looking after a baby without spending the whole time in top knots and leggings. I bought this jumper in New Look on Saturday. I love the fact its practical & comfy but has such pretty colours in it! You can't see it as well as I wanted in the pictures, but it has multicoloured flecks all over it in pretty pastel tones.

I absolutely love Lily's little outfit here! The top and headband are both from Vertboudet. I love their baby clothes, they are a bit different from your usual pink for girls and blue for boys baby clothes & so so pretty. This actually has shorts that go with it too, but the weather has been too horrible for her to wear them. As soon as the sun comes out though, this is the outfit she's wearing!

Things are getting quite exciting at the moment too... I am starting a new little project I hope to share with you all soon, and we may, hopefully, have a house very soon!! Please send lots of luck our way, we have everything crossed!

How were your weekends?

soldiers, kittens and polka dots

Rosie: dress worn as top: primark, cardigan: H&M, jeans: George at ASDA
Lily: top: H&M, trousers: H&M

I know you can't really see them in this picture, but I love the jeans I'm wearing here! I really struggle to find good fitting jeans (as most people seem to) and these I found for £14 at ASDA amazingly, and they fit so well and are really comfy! They're high waisted skinny jeans that are quite stretchy and feel really good quality. They have them in lots of colours too, I really want a mint green pair next!

The dress I'm wearing as a top is one that was in primark ages ago, I got it just before I found out I was pregnant last year, and didn't end up wearing it before I got too big for it! So today I wore it for the first time, but as a top. Short dresses aren't that practical when your looking after a 6 week old baby! I love the print on it of the little red soldiers :)

I really love this little outfit Lily is wearing! It's so adorable! It had a cute little red polkadot hat with cat ears on too, but I've lost it, which is such a shame because it is so so cute!I think H&M is my favourite place for baby clothes. They are all cute, practical and really reasonable prices.

Today Lily and I went to see her great Grandma. She lives in a care home and the carers and other residents make such a fuss of little Lily! This evening, after some pizza, I think we will settle down with David and watch Deathly Hallows part 1 & 2. I think my David, Lily and Harry Potter might just be my favourite way to spend an evening!

triangles

Hello :)

Finally, this morning I managed to get Lily to sleep for a little while somewhere other than in my arms! I took this opportunity to do my hair and pick out some jewelry to wear. This is a big difference to my usual getting dressed routine at the moment, which tends to be dash around super fast grabbing the first top and jeans I see and chuck my hair into a ponytail before Lily starts crying because I'm not holding her! So while this outfit may be quite boring, to me it was a big achievement!

The necklace I'm wearing is one of my favourites, I found it in a cute little handmade gift shop last year at the gardens where my graduation was held. The ring I'm wearing is one I made, more like this will be going up in the shop soon!

My little Lily wore her 'I love you mummy' baby grow today, one of my favourites! She is getting so big and changing so much already. She will be a month old on Sunday, which has come so fast! I love my little strawberry :)

How are you all?
