MARLOW

95 9 4 7 3 8 1 5 6 91 94 93 92

I know, I've done it again! I always do neglect this little blog of mine, and then make you all promises of regular updates and more effort. Well, this time, I wont be promising anything. Life has got a little crazy. Not only do I have my Monday to Friday job working as a Support Assistant for special needs children in a school, with the added responsibility of some small classes of my own to teach, I now also have a weekend job waitressing Saturday and Sunday nights to pay for this wedding that seems to have crept up on us way too fast and gone a tad over budget! So, between being a mother, housework, planning a wedding and working 7 days a week, I'm not exactly sure how to fit in this blog too. I am going to try, I really am. When I'm not too exhausted to face the computer screen I will try my hardest to put posts together for you. I have so many folders of pictures taken over the summer with the intention of blogging, and it makes me really sad I have so little time for it. Really sad. I miss it. And I miss all of you.

Anyway, on a rare day we had a few hours to ourselves just our little family, we decided to take a little trip to a beautiful village called Marlow. I love Marlow. So so pretty and cute with it's bunting, carousels, little tea rooms and shops. We visited a little antiques fair and picked up a few bits and pieces fro the wedding, we stopped in a cafe for a bowl of chips and a slice of cake, we went to visit the ducks and swans by the river, we played in the park, and browsed the shops. My favourite shop there is one called Susie Watson Designs. Susie Watson sells the most beautiful home ware, but it's the shop that makes it extra special. It is a beautiful, big old house that has been furnished with all of their products, so it looks just like a home rather than a shop! I wish I could just move right in.

How are you all? I feel so out of the loop!

MARSHMALLOW FLUFF CRISPY TREATS

SAM_2428

Hello everyone! I thought I'd share a little recipe with you today. We had a lazy day at home in our pyjamas today, and I felt like making a sweet treat of some sort, so went through our almost-bare cupboards and came up with this recipe! I bought a jar of marshmallow fluff a while ago because I had never tried it before, but then didn't know what to do with it, so I finally used it today! These are so so simple but seriously yummy :)

For 5ish depending on the size of your cupcake cases, you will need:

2 cups of rice krispies
1 jar of raspberry marshmallow fluff (if you don't have any, you could just use some marshmallows)
a knob of butter
some sprinkles
a saucepan
some spoons
cupcake cases

Start by melting a knob of butter in your saucepan over a low heat. Once melted, you can add your marshmallow fluff. This stuff is so sticky, so I had to use two spoons and scrape the fluff into the saucepan as best I could! Leave for around 5 minutes until it is less of a big fluffy lump and more runny (so technical!).

Then you need to add your two cups of rice krispies. I literally measure mine with a teacup!

Give it all a good stir until the rice krispies are covered with Marshmallow fluff.

Then you can add your sprinkles and stir them all in. You could replace these for something else, maybe chocolate chips or smarties? I thought the sprinkles looked pretty and added a bit more texture :)

Then spoon the mixture into your cupcake cases and set aside for 10 minutes until they've set. You're done!

I made a cute little topper for mine out of some string, cocktail sticks and washi tape. Simple but effective! I think these would be perfect for birthday parties. Really quick and easy, but suprisingly delicious, they would go down a storm with friends and family! Mine were gone in seconds!

Hope your having lovely weekends and are enjoying the bank holiday if your here in the UK!

bunting & ladybirds

I am a very lucky girl. my dad and uncle built my studio this week, and I have spent all my time since then painting and decorating it! I love it, it is so big with lots of light, and im going to have my own little herb garden outside. I have put up my bunting and my giant ladybirds climb all up the side. My Kitten, Alfie, loves it and has been keeping me company in there. He has also had fun playing with the bunting blowing in the wind, and got a bit over excited and stole one of the flags!! hehe, silly kitten. I am painting the inside white. I wanted to have the painting done by the end of today, and to have started putting up lots of pretty things on the wall, but the weather proofing underneath is red and keeps coming through!! So far I have done 3 coats and it still isnt finished. Im exhausted! That is why there is masking tape all around the windows, please excuse it :)

It has to be left until next weekend now though, because tomorrow I go back up to our uni house. I have to get the final things finished around the house, and on Friday I GRADUATE. eep!! so grown up and scary!

This will probably be my last week in the uni house with my David. The last time I will live with him until we can save enough money for our own place, which we have no idea when it will be. It is going to be strange, not living with him for a while. He will be living 45 minutes away. I am going to be very upset, I will miss him so much. Expect a very soppy post next week!!!
